Middle School Standouts put on a show at Make Your Marq Camp
Several Central Pennsylvania middle school prospects attended Marquee Hoops’ Make Your Mark Camp from January 2 to 3 at the 76ers Fieldhouse. Marquee Hoops is the grassroots leader through development and national exposure in exposure events and team camps. Ashley Berkhimer, Emma Kostelac-Lauer, Ava London, Layonna Morales and Mia Walker represented the RISE Sports brand very well. RISE Sports has gifted athletes with many opportunities, and these 5 performed to the standard and we are very proud of them! Below is their evaluation from the Make Your Marq Camp:
Ashley Berkhimer, 2026 Guard (Report from Marquee Hoops): ”Ashley’s long frame helped her to be one of the best defensive players at camp this weekend. She was also low and in a stance when guarding the ball, and ready to help out while off ball. Her constant defensive chatter was a real bright spot for her team, and she easily lead the camp in steals and deflections.” - Gary Williams
Ava London, 2027 Guard (Report from Marquee Hoops): “London operates best in the mid-range, where she showed a nice touch. Her shot mechanics are very solid and she knocked down multiple attempts from the mid-range and outside. London enjoyed finding her man and boxing her out before securing the rebound and pushing the break.” - Gary Williams
Layonna Morales, 2026 Guard (Report from Marquee Hoops): “Morales put her lightning speed on display all weekend, using her quick first step to create separation on offense and wreak havoc on defense. She proved to be capable of finishing creatively with both hands and off of the opposite foot. Throwing her hands into passing lanes, she sped other teams up leading to deflections and steals.” - Gary Williams
Mia Walker, 2026 Guard (Report from Marquee Hoops): “Walker displayed a very versatile skill set this weekend at camp. She has the unique combination of high level rebounding ability combined with a solid handle that lets her push the break. She scored both on the block with tremendous touch and was very physical with her drives to the rim.” - Gary Williams
Emma Kostelac-Lauer, 2026 Guard (Report from Marquee Hoops): “Kostelac-Lauer had a good weekend handling the ball as a point guard and controlling the flow of her teams offense. She drove primarily left and her drives opened up open passing lanes for her teammates. Away from the ball she was in constant motion keeping her teams offense from becoming stagnant.” - Gary Williams
